The Herbal Garden

The different herbs, bushes and trees are used to make medicine for the Siddha clinic in Koot Road. The plants are grown organically without pesticides, herbicides or fungicides. This is very important for the medicinal treatments.

 

Furthermore the Herbal Garden is a place where villagers and guests can inform about the healing qualities of the plants.

There are boards with information about it for every plant in Tamil and English. We want to remember the local people of their traditional Siddha medicine. In the past the indigenous plants were used in the daily life. Slowly the traditional knowledge has been forgotten. Only a few old people still know about the Siddha medicine. Now there is a chance for the Tamils to get again connected with it. They can come to the Herbal Garden to get information and for collecting plants which they need.
